There are many ways that you or your group from church, school or work can help .  Every little bit adds up so please don't feel like what you can do is too small to make a difference.  It all makes a difference!

Deadlines for letters, cards, folding flags and items for the boxes is October 15th.  We need time to get everything in order for our assembly night.

If you have a loved one serving in Iraq and Afghanistan please send us their name by October 22nd.  We only make as many boxes as we have names for so submitting a name after that is very difficult for us.

  • Adopt a soldier by making a monetary donation of $50.  A message will be included in the soldier's box to let them know that you made the donation.
  • Hand out shopping list of items at stores for their customers to purchase and include in our holiday boxes.
  • Collect items from your friends and family or your co-workers.  A list will be provided.
  • Collect monetary donations for postage costs.
  • Save your Halloween candy.  We'll add it to our boxes.
  • Write letters and cards of support for our troops.  If you are a teacher or Girl Scout or Boy Scout leader please consider doing this.  Our troops love hearing from our kids.  Adults can write them too!
  • Help us sew cool-ties.  All supplies and the instructions will be provided.
  • Hold a Jeans Day at work.
  • Take orders for our patriotic items.  There are pictures, posters and an order form available on our website.
  • Fold small flags for our soldiers to put in their pockets.  This is a great project for kids to get involved with.
  • Help assemble the boxes on Wednesday, 10 November at 4 pm at the UAW 838 hall which is located at 2615 Washington Street in Waterloo.  We can also use help setting up the night before.  Anytime after 3:30 will be a big help.
  • Purchase one of our patriotic items that we have for our fundraising efforts:  shirts, flags that can be personalized, wind chimes, garden stones and glass wall clocks.

Thank You to everyone that made our "Heroes Favorites" cookbook a success.  Sue Gress, a Marine Mom did a GREAT job putting it together and getting so many copies of it sold on behalf of our Iowa's Bravest project.  Sue still has some copies available so please consider buying one to help ship more boxes to our Iowa's Bravest.  Sue - thank you so much for your HUGE HEART!

You can also help support our soldiers on a BIGGER scale by recycling your cell phones through the Bergquist Family's "Cell Phones For Soldiers" program.  They have been a supporter of our Iowa's Bravest program for years by donating a calling card for all of our boxes!  Please support their efforts too.  Learn more about their program at the link at the bottom of this page.      THANKS so much!

The Waterloo Black Hawks Hockey Team held a Military Appreciation Night on November 18th.  Tyson Foods sponsored the patriotic jerseys which were auctioned off after the game.  We thank the Black Hawks for their VERY GENEROUS donation to our Iowa's Bravest project.           Thanks for your continued support!
